Tim Parrish is the CEO of Sagemont and a licensed attorney with more than 12 years of experience building and leading end-to-end tax credit and incentive services. Prior to joining Sagemont, Tim co-led the tax credits practice at Ernst & Young LLP, where he advised companies of all sizes on complex tax savings opportunities and served as a member of EY’s National Tax practice. In 2020, he was recognized as a finalist for EY’s Mike Boldasaro Exceptional Client Service Award for extraordinary client support during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Throughout his career, Tim has helped thousands of clients navigate high-value federal and state tax credit programs, including the R&D Tax Credit, Work Opportunity Tax Credit, Federal Empowerment Zone Credit, Paid Family and Medical Leave Credit, and numerous state and disaster zone incentives. His work has helped put billions of dollars back into the hands of small businesses and large enterprises alike.

In addition to client advisory work, Tim is deeply engaged in tax policy and industry leadership. He currently serves as President of the HIRE Coalition and was the Chair of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation’s 2025 Credits & Incentives Symposium.

A graduate of the University of Virginia and Pepperdine Caruso School of Law, Tim’s expertise spans the full tax credit lifecycle, from monitoring legislation and regulatory guidance to developing technology-enabled solutions, advising clients, and defending claims before the IRS. Outside of work, Tim enjoys cheering on his native Washington, D.C. sports teams, playing beach volleyball, and traveling.
